Author J R Jackson continues the ZA series with this third installment. Unlike the many mediocre offerings of late in this genre, you won't find erroneous descriptions of weapons used, or questionable military tactics gleaned from 2nd hand information--just a tight story line backed with real-time data. The author mixes civilian and military responses to the overwhelming threat facing all, and does it in a manner that keeps the reader engrossed and eager for the next installment.This book centers around the PNW-based forces and their quest to secure their base and the ongoing search for survivors. Jackson does a great job of developing characters in the Paladin Battle Group, especially Captains Powell, Greerson and Willis. None are Rambos, just officers faced with an insurmountable task with limited resources.
This is a top shelf PA/ZA series, and recommended to all looking for an intense read in this genre

It seems just as I'm getting into the book it ends and leaves me gasping for more. This a great series and right now I need to go buy the next book.
Wow, what a ride! Don't miss this series, lots of action as the story unfolds about this viral apocalypse. Fighting zombies may not be the worst in this new world!
Great adventure yarn! Long but keeps your interest.
Too good. Can't wait to start book 4. Military action and zombie horror makes great bedfellows. I simply love this series.
I gave this book series 5 stars only because I am not able to give it more. I have been eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series. The attention to detail and amount of research that the author did makes the story lines even better. I have read the series multiple times... it is that good.
Go hit the buy it now button, now! But wait, you need to go buy the first two books in the series and read them too. Shoot you might as well buy them all because you'll be right back here for this book and the next after reading the first two.
Book three really took off. I would say book three is 5x better than the first two.
RE-READ - as I didn't leave a review the first time I read this book. Another great book by J.R. Jackson in a series that always leaves you wanting more. With pretty much everyone doing all they can to stay alive and help others do the same, it might not be enough. There are others that are doing what they can to take out high ranking military and senior members of the United States, as these people pose a threat, to the ones who want to be the ones to rule over what's left. But the ones who set this virus in motion may not be in control like they think they are. Only time will tell. One great book and also one I'm more than happy to recommend to all.
