...It was the first time she'd seemed peaceful since this entire fiasco began. I felt so bad for everything I'd put her through. Was it right of me to keep her past her time?... "I won't leave...I will stay beside you and watch over you until the end of time, no matter what the cost." Levi I praise Megan Curd. This was an awesome read. Wonderfully romantic. Original storyline. What a description of characters, events and places!! I loved it and I am waiting to see what happens next. Must read!!

What I liked about it
Loved Ethan's wisecracks!
I've read the author's first book (from another series) and this time, the writing felt much smoother.
I liked that Hannah didn't fall "in love" immediately.
the story isn't overly long.
I'd have liked it if the author had delved a little deeper into the mythology she had created for this novel.
Reine's betrayal didn't feel like much of a surprise, neither did Angie overcoming her dark side.
To start off I really looked forward to reading this book. I'm a huge fan of Angel/Fallen themed stories. One of my favorite movies is Gabriel, where the Archangels and Fallen fight for purgatory. So I felt right at home with this book from the first couple of chapters.
The characters were well designed and the detail behind each character were delivered perfectly. I feel a lot of books either rush the details or delay them, this book was the exception. The characters were easy to relate to and get attached to. The story was also great and the plot followed a fluid path. What you think will happen next doesn't and I feel this is what sets Megan Curd's writing apart from other authors.
Overall, I felt this was a great read and I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this type of genre. It was nice to stray away from the typical Zombie/Vampire books that are flooding the market. Megan Curd does an amazing job from beginning to end, and I can't wait to read what she has in store in the future.
I've read other books by this author and really liked them so I decided to give this title a look. I'm glad I did! It's a bit of a different take on the whole Angels and Demons thing. I liked the characters and the plot. I also know that I will be putting any future releases from Ms. Curd on my book wish list as soon as they have a release date. As I state in all my reviews, I don't post any spoilers. I want people to discover the characters and story for themselves. If you decide to purchase a copy of the book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Forbidden (The Guardian Chronicles)
With its unique and unexpected twist on a Guardian Angel story, "Forbidden" held my interest well from the start. Pacing was good, and easy to follow, with enough action as well as down time to keep you from getting bored. Without extraneous characters to bog the story down, there was room for more depth and emotion from the main characters. The secondary characters all add something to the storyline, which is great after reading books with dozens of characters to keep straight that add very little to the plot or meaning of the story.
I enjoyed reading from the point of view of a `teen-aged' male character, rather than the usual focus on the teenage girl that so many YA authors favor today. I am very glad that I gave this book a chance!! This was the first book I had read by the author, Megan Curd, but it will not be the last!
As paranormal romance with a different twist, written from the perspective of the male lead character Levi, Megan Curd has given Forbidden a refreshing new look to this young adult genre.
It's not very often you find a novel written from the male perspective and this one does a bang up job of bringing Levi, a fallen angel, to life. Levi, against all rules, falls in love with his human charge which could endanger his century old dream of moving up to the rank of Guardian. As these young characters struggle with new friends, strange occurrences and life threatening battles, the reader becomes captivated begging for more.
The different characters in this novel are so well described you can actually imagine them standing in front of you, or sitting in a tree outside your window. Fallen with glistening black wings, Guardians who glow white light, and gruesome Hunters who prey on their counterparts and their charges.
This book will keep you reading, page after page, well into the night. I look forward to the next book in the Guardian Chronicles.
